The personality of the latter in particular showcases the series' bizarre sense of humor and helps add some levity to what can become an incredibly brutal series. The other team members include hacker Ao, dowser Makoto (who uses a pendulum to find dead bodies) and Yuji Yata, whose left hand is home to a hand puppet that supposedly relays the personality of the misanthropic and coarse-mouthed alien Kere Ellis. Unfortunately, the circumstances leading to these people's demises often nearly cause the same for the Kurosagi team, with homicidal maniacs behind many of the deaths. He and his friends use this ability to try to grant the corpse's last request, hoping to gain compensation in some way afterward given their relatively destitute finances.
Chief among them is Kuro Karatsu, who can briefly revive recently dead corpses and commune with them. Created by Eiji Otsuka, The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service follows a group of former students at a Buddhist college who all have supernatural abilities.
